About

Bringing nearly two decades of experience to the National Spine and Pain Centers, Dr. Steve C. Lee has a passion for treating all pain syndromes with the most effective treatments. He is an expert performing minimally invasive surgical procedures including sacroiliac fusion, lumbar fusion, intrathecal pain pumps and spinal cord stimulation.

Before joining the National Spine and Pain Centers, Dr. Lee was the medical director and attending pain physician at several pain centers in Louisiana. His career has included working at medical and pain centers in New York and Louisiana.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Brigham Young University in Utah and his Doctor of Medicine from Washington University School of Medicine in Missouri. He completed an internship at Brockton Hospital/Tufts Medical Center in Brockton MA and an advanced anesthesiology residency and pain medicine fellowship at Harvard Medical School - Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA.

Dr. Lee was first drawn to anesthesiology and pain management because he is able to see true improvement to his patients’ quality of life.”The happiness that a patient has when we overcome their pain obstacle makes it worthwhile every time,” he said.

When putting together an individualized treatment plan, Dr. Lee approaches medication management as an integral part of treating chronic pain. He also utilizes advanced therapies to minimize the need for medications. Patient-centered care is the focus of Dr. Lee’s practice. “I believe the best patient centered care revolves around sincere communication,” he said.

When not treating patients, Dr. Lee enjoys running, biking, swimming, and participating in triathlons as well as hiking and traveling.
