About

About

Kulbir Singh Walia, M.D. sees patients in the Shrewsbury and Freehold, NJ offices of Premier Pain Centers, which recently joined forces with National Spine & Pain Centers, one of the nation’s largest pain management practices. He specializes in interventional pain management and strives to develop treatment plans that blend measures such as physical therapy and conservative medication management with minimally invasive procedures, when necessary.

Dr. Walia has practiced with Premier Pain Centers since 2008 and prior to joining PPC, he spent eight years with Lehigh Valley Pain Management in Allentown, PA. He actively participates in clinical trials to find new medications that modulate or block pain receptors and has published several professional articles on topics related to anesthesiology and pain management.

Dr. Walia earned his medical degree from the Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal, India, where he completed an internship and residency in anesthesiology. He also performed a residency in anesthesiology at the University Hospital of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark before completing a fellowship in pain medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Walia was recently named “Top Doctor 2018” by NJ Top Docs, a division of US Top Docs.

“I am excited about the ways in which advances in medical technology, including efforts to decipher the human genome, can help us continue to refine and target our chronic and acute pain therapies,” he said. “Every time we can offer our patients a new approach to treating their pain, I am reminded why I chose to pursue this field. The future of pain relief is very promising.”

In his free time, Dr. Walia enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music, gardening and playing table tennis.
